Must Have Newborn -6 Months Essentials

Here they are! A list of my favorite baby essentials that made adjusting to life with baby for the first six months much more manageable!

You can find everything plus a few more items on My Amazon List!

I wish they made this for adults because it is so cozy.   We used the Dock A Tot every day! It is light, easy to wash, great for travel  and he loved napping in it.  He co-slept  for a week before The Snoo arrived and it was perfect  because I could breastfeed him right in the bed with me. There are so many beautiful patterns and colors to pick from.  This is one of my favorite items and definitely a must have.

2. LUMI BABY MONITOR

I did a lot of research before finally deciding on the Lumi.  It has an incredibly high quality camera that makes the picture so clear. The camera has a very wide range so you are able to see the entire crib or nursery. It is very easy to set up and can be mounted to the wall which is great. The best part is the app that allows you to track diaper changes,  feedings and sleep hours!   The lookback feature is amazing because you can see what happens over night. I love watching his cuddles with his lovey and his morning giggles and babbles to himself.

3. Doona-

There should be an award for this carseat turned stroller.  The doona is so convenient and lightweight! With the push of a button, the carseat releases its legs and wheels and Voila, You now have a stroller!  The base is very heavy and stays in the car which the seat easily clicks and attaches to.  What is great about the Doona is you do not need the base for the carseat.  If you are taking an uber, you can use the seatbelt to strap the car seat securely in the car.  Perfect carseat for city living!

4. Fisher Price Bathtub

Bath time is now one of my favorite times with my little one. I was so nervous to bathe him the first few times. How do I support his neck and bathe him? This tub is the perfect answer.  It has an adjustable sling insert that cradles the baby to make bathing easier.  It grows with your little one and the sling and seat can be taken out when they’re older and able to support their head and neck

5. Haakaa Breast Pump -

Every drop of your hard pumped liquid gold counts. I remember one day I had just finished pumping, placed my bottle down, and accidentally knocked it over! All I could do was stand there and cry over my spilt milk. I wasn’t producing much in the first place so wasting it was a sad day.

When you breastfeed on one side, you probably notice that you have some leaking on the other side. The Haakaa is perfect for catching the excess from the breast that isn’t being used. I would sometimes get up to 2 ounces from using the haakaa!

6. Mustela No Rinse Baby Cleanse-

From spit up to drool to excess milk on their face a neck, babies can get sticky and stinky really fast.  I love the gentle smell of the Mustela Rinse and use it daily to keep his neck folds clean from the milk barnacles (thats what I call stinky milk neck)! It is also a lifesaver for baby acne and can help clear it up in days! This is a definite must have!

7. My Brest Friend

If you find that your arm gets tired and it is difficult to hold the baby in the right position for extended periods of time while breastfeeding, a breastfeeding pillow could be the answer. I had Both My Breast Friend Pillow and the Boppy, but used the Brest Friend because you could clip yourself in to prevent it from sliding down when you are doing feedings.

8. Baby K’Tan

Babywearing is a great bonding time for us. It is so nice to be able to go for walks while wearing him. He loves taking in all the sights and sounds and usually falls asleep from being so cozy on my chest.  What I love about the K’tan is it is already pre-wrapped so it is easy to slip on and insert baby!

9. Bandana Bibs

The amount of drool a baby can produce is mindblowing. Like Really. My little one can soak through a shirt in an hour if he isn’t wearing a bib. The bandana style is cute and stylish as well as functional so why not accessorize your tot at the same time.

10. Halo Sleep Sack-

This was the perfect transition from the snoo to his crib. Sleep sacks help with his startle reflex helping him stay sleep longer. My little one loved being swaddled and having the feeling of the sleep sack helped him sleep 11 hours at night. Check out my Night time routine that helped him be a great sleeper!

There ya have it! All of my must have baby items that made the first six months so much easier! To keep it real, baby products are SO EXPENSIVE and most of the things the grow out of within months so it was important to me to find products that I actually need and use daily.
