Now a days on Social Media it is all about engaging the audience you currently have! It is not just about likes and views anymore, but are people taking action when they see your post or stories!

  1. Call to Action!

Sometimes you have to tell people what you would like them to do! Got a new blog you want your audience to read? Tell them to Swipe up (linking your blog and using the swipe up feature if you have 10k or more followers, OR sending them to the link in bio!) Having a call to action to either drive people to your blog, affiliate link or even online class you are teaching should always be at the forefront of your brain when posting and grabbing your followers attention.   Using these two prompts can also help your people know what the call to action is that you would like from them!

  • Hold to read- You will be amazed at how many people do not know that if you press down on your screen you can freeze the IG story. This works great if you have a long caption in the story and want people to read it!

  • Tap for More- If you have a few story frames you would like people to read, let them know they can tap to move on to the next screen!

2. Utilize Stickers!

Instagram stickers are fun and an easy way to bring up your engagement! Try using these two sticker types to get folks interacting!

  • Question Stickers- Ask your audience questions like What they want to see from you, what their favorite ice cream flavor is or even asking for advice on a particular subject can be beneficial! The great thing about the question sticker is that when you repost the question asked, it is another view on your stories!

  • Poll Stickers- Quick, easy and to the point! What’s really cool about the poll sticker is that you have access to a list of people who've answered your poll. If you would like to take the conversation further, You can then send them a direct message for 24 hours after the poll has concluded!

3. Shoutouts and Mentions

Everyone likes to feel special! Taking the time to shout out followers or mention them for being awesome will boost your engagement and also make your followers feel more connected! A lot of people do follow Fridays to let their audience know about someone who is a great follow!

There ya have it! Hopefully these simple three tactics for increasing engagement in your IG stories will ignite your creativity fire and get you thinking of ways to keep your audience engaged! Thanks for reading fam!
